Building Qwak's Product Foundation

Creating the systems and workflows that allowed Qwak to scale beyond its early product.

Overview

When I joined Qwak after its Series A, the product had grown without a design foundation. As the first and only product designer, I established the design system, aligned core workflows, and introduced reusable patterns that enabled the product and team to scale together.

Contributions

  • Built Qwak's first design system with reusable components and shared patterns.

  • Simplified core workflows to improve onboarding and day-to-day usability.

  • Established consistent UX patterns that reduced design and engineering rework.

  • Prioritized scalable systems over pixel-perfect screens to support rapid product growth.

Outcome

Qwak gained a design foundation that supported faster product development and a more cohesive user experience. Teams onboarded more easily, engineers reused established patterns, and the product became better suited for enterprise customers.

Takeaway

Strong foundations aren't built by perfecting every screen—they're built by creating systems that make every future decision easier.
